Baltimore, Maryland, July 13, 2016, Bonnie D. King-Rose, Retired Stockbroker and Educator, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in business and education.
With the ability to champion over obstacles, Mrs. King-Rose has carved out a successful career in sales, brokering and education. After passing the required tests to become a stockbroker, finding a job in the field proved quite challenging. At the time, firms had hired very few females for this position. However, Mrs. King-Rose persevered and eventually landed a job. This position even brought her to New York for a month of training. She came into brokering after working in sales at IBM for 6 years and prior teaching for 3 years in a local high school.
After remarrying in 2002, Mrs. King-Rose retired from the industry 2003, and began teaching summer classes relating to the field, as well as volunteering at the Baltimore Visitor Center. She became a Certified Tourism Ambassador for Baltimore and aided in many functions to promote the city. Mrs. King-Rose drew strength to continue down her path from the wise advice of her mother, who told her, “I believe a woman should be able to do anything she wants. You just have to go for it and don’t take no for an answer.” With this piece of advice resounding in her mind, she never let an obstacle discourage her from pursuing her interests. Mrs. King-Rose majored in Business Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her natural communication skills have helped her succeed in this industry, as well as teaching classes.
In 2015, Mrs. King-Rose was recognized as a Top Female Professional, highlighting not only her work accomplishments but her community ones as well. She is President of the Paint and Powder Club of Baltimore for 2016-2017 and supports the Breast Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, Boys Town, House of Ruth, Maryland Food Bank and the Fraternal Order of Police. She is a member of the Women’s Club of Roland Park, and the Ladies of the Elks. With all of these professional and personal achievements, Mrs. King-Rose says that being a mother to two successful children with great family values is her greatest accomplish.
