She took on the position of director of the academic writing center, which offered a summer English as a second language (ESL) program. Over her tenure at the university, she turned the ESL program into a full-fledged recruitment pathway program for the university which now operates out of two campus sites.

Levine drives from site to site to give special needs children individual educational attention, with each session being an hour long per child. After these sessions, she compiles each child’s progress, using this data to update reports for the parents and her office. To keep her skills sharp, she attends meetings and events while providing individual education for special needs children from ages 3 to 5. She also sits on the IEP team and tests children at the assessment center for the district.

Assistive technology is an umbrella term that covers assistive, adaptive and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities. As an assistive technology specialist, Ms. Myers is focused on understanding the needs of disabled and handicapped individuals and working with them to create better systems for their needs. In this position, she relies on her strength to connect with others, especially those who are disabled and their families. Becoming close with the people she works with helps her to more deeply understand their needs.
Always committed to her education, Ms. Myers first received a Bachelor of Science in rehabilitation services. This allowed her to begin working in her field. She continued to earn a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Wright State University. In order to stay abreast of industry trends, Ms. Myers keeps up-to-date with changing technology. Technology is a big part of her profession and it is something she feels passionate about. In this role, she accompanies families to court and acts as a mediator.
Dr. Hall Mitchell grew up with two parents who were educators. Their work in the field placed a great emphasis on the value of education and ultimately inspired her to set down a similar path. Dr. Hall Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Science in special education with a concentration in mental retardation. She continued to earn a master’s degree in special education and then an Ed.D. in educational leadership. She taught special education for 22 years. She has also worked as a principal. She has been recognized with such awards as the Principal of the Year and the Outstanding Service Award for Bethlehem Baptist Church.
