East Hartford, CT, May 23, 2017, Marcia Goodman, Marcia Goodman, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in nursing.
Throughout her 54-year career, Marcia Goodman has always had one goal: to do her best. Having served as a registered nurse for almost 10 years, a laboratory technician with the American Red Cross for 15 years, and an employee of the Social Security Administration for about five years beginning in 1967, she has always given 110 percent in any position. It is her most recent role, however, that is likely the closest to her heart, as it represents a time when her personal and professional lives collided.
After having open-heart surgery and being cared for by outstanding professionals who did their best to nurse her back to optimal health, Ms. Goodman took an interest in cardiology nursing. Since then, she has helped to treat people with conditions similar to hers and maintained the kind of zeal and passion that prompted her to become involved in the profession in the first place. Fulfilling a promise to a beloved family member, she even returned to school to further her education.
Ms. Goodman received a Ph.D. from Yale University as well as an honorary degree. She is a member of the Supreme Council of the Order of the Amaranth and maintains affiliation with the American Red Cross, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the National Wildlife Federation. A theater enthusiast with experience on both sides of the curtain, she once managed a community theater and has worked with some of Broadway’s biggest names. She also appeared in a production of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.”
Marcia Goodman was originally selected for inclusion in Elite Women Worldwide in 2015. We are proud to be featuring Ms. Goodman again in Elite Women Worldwide for 2017.
