Dr. Batcheller was inspired to become a nurse after her own treatment after surviving an accident as a child. She became determined to provide the care and help that was bestowed onto her, onto others. She currently works at AMN Healthcare, where she focuses on performing nationwide search for placement of interim and permanent chief nursing officers. She provides leadership development by offering the biannual CNO Academy and the CNO Executive Circle to professionally prepare, mentor and help on-board CNOs. Dr. Batcheller has remained an active high-profile health care community member, a detail that merits itself as a marker of accomplishment in her career. To stay abreast of industry trends, she is a member of the Texas Nursing Association, and a chairperson of the Health Care Systems Humane Society.

Launching her career with the United States Air Force, Dr. Batcheller became adept at overcoming struggles and managing to have people take her seriously. She has also completed rigorous and extensive educational courses throughout her career. In 1975, she received a diploma from the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, and continued to earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center from the San Antonio School of Nursing. In 2003, she polished her knowledge with a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio School of Nursing. In 2010, she completed a doctorate of nursing practice from the School of Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She is certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the American Heart Association, in Critical Care Nursing and has a certificate in Fundamentals of Magnet™.
