Elmhurst, Illinois, December 12, 2016, Catherine A.Z. Gruener, Founder and Owner of Gruener Consulting, LLC, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in psychology.
As a counselor, Ms. Gruener believes that adults, parents and educators have to start with a child’s strength and help them burst from that energy into solving problems in other more challenging aspects of their lives. Through her eight-year involvement with the Adler School of Professional Psychology, she became certified in positive discipline in order to teach parents and educators how to positively affect children’s development. She has been actively volunteering, researching and presenting on the social and emotional needs of gifted children since 2009, a population of interest for her. She feels her success thus far is due to her devotion to learning, listening to her intuition and pursuing her passions. She encourages other women to never give up, learn from their mistakes, and continue to pursue dreams and aspirations.
Looking back, Ms. Gruener attributes her success to her hard work, passion, and dedication to lifelong learning and service to others. She became involved in her profession due to her progression from psychosocial-based scientific research and assessments to implementing interventions that assist in the health and well-being of children, parents, and families.
Ms. Gruener received a Master of Arts in counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in 2012 and a Master of Arts in neuropsychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1995. She maintains affiliation with the Positive Discipline Association, the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the National Association for Gifted Children and the Illinois Association for Gifted Children. In years to come, Ms. Gruener intends to expand her organization to include counseling services, workshops and classes for educational institutions.
