Having served as a registered nurse for almost 10 years, a laboratory technician with the American Red Cross for 15 years, and an employee of the Social Security Administration for about five years beginning in 1967, she has always given 110 percent in any position. It is her most recent role, however, that is likely the closest to her heart, as it represents a time when her personal and professional lives collided.
