After serving in various positions such as the second vice president and treasurer of the NFRW, Ms. Almond was elected president in early 2016. The federation was founded in 1938 and endeavors to empower women in the political process, government and civic arenas. She was elected at the 38th Biennial Convention in Phoenix. In addition to her position with the grassroots organization, she is an executive vice president of Citizens Bank & Trust. To inspire more women to go into the banking industry, she started a Young Banking Program in which she ensures the male-to-female ratio is 50/50.

Ms. Almond became involved with banks after bouncing a tuition check in college. After speaking with the president of the bank about the issue, she was invited to enroll in a training program at the bank. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, she worked for the Union Bank of Switzerland in Lausanne. Ms. Almond is known for her communication skills, leadership and working well with others. These skills are integral to her success in both the banking industry and as president of the NFRW. Regina, SK, Canada, August 15, 2016, Ruth Hoffart, Librarian, Manager (Retired) at Royal Canadian Mounted Police, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in law enforcement services.

After dedicating 47 years in the law enforcement field, Ms. Hoffart retired from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. During her time in the service, she helped develop a library that became a fully automated resource center used by cadets in training. Her position required her to be a leader, and she was often directing others, implementing organization management and training others regarding law enforcement. Her fruitful career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was recognized with a Long Service Medal.

Ms. Hoffart’s decision to join the RCMP is largely based on her desire to help others. Her success was built upon her selflessness, and because she enjoys helping others, she was also able to work well with her colleagues. Her career as a librarian and manager is speckled with many achievements, however, Ms. Hoffart points out that her greatest accomplishment has been sharing her information with others. In her retirement, she still enjoys helping others and is active at her local church where she is a Sunday school teacher. Continue reading →

There are only a handful of people in the United States designated to control the containment of Type 1 forest fires, those forest fires are categorized as the largest and most devastating. Prior to retiring, she was involved with forest and wild protection services for nearly 40 years. She received the Type 1 Incident Commander title in 2005, as well as a master’s certificate in leadership. Her expertise in managing incidents, directing the protection of 1.6 million acres of land, supervising fire suppression, hazard reduction and prescribed fires, and overseeing aviation and national response has served and benefited various regions across the country.
