Alexandria, VA, United States, August 30, 2016, Carrie L. Almond, President of the National Federation of Republican Women, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in politics.
After serving in various positions such as the second vice president and treasurer of the NFRW, Ms. Almond was elected president in early 2016. The federation was founded in 1938 and endeavors to empower women in the political process, government and civic arenas. She was elected at the 38th Biennial Convention in Phoenix. In addition to her position with the grassroots organization, she is an executive vice president of Citizens Bank & Trust. To inspire more women to go into the banking industry, she started a Young Banking Program in which she ensures the male-to-female ratio is 50/50.
Ms. Almond became involved with banks after bouncing a tuition check in college. After speaking with the president of the bank about the issue, she was invited to enroll in a training program at the bank. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, she worked for the Union Bank of Switzerland in Lausanne. Ms. Almond is known for her communication skills, leadership and working well with others. These skills are integral to her success in both the banking industry and as president of the NFRW.
