Drawing on more than 35 years of expertise in education management, Dr. Hall Mitchell is well-known as a parent and public education advocate. Having dedicated so much of her life to education and education management, she is an exemplary figure in both teaching and reform. Her latest venture has been creating her nonprofit organization, which aims to help children with special needs get through issues in schools and with school districts. In this role, she accompanies families to court and acts as a mediator.

Dr. Hall Mitchell grew up with two parents who were educators. Their work in the field placed a great emphasis on the value of education and ultimately inspired her to set down a similar path. Dr. Hall Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Science in special education with a concentration in mental retardation. She continued to earn a master’s degree in special education and then an Ed.D. in educational leadership. She taught special education for 22 years. She has also worked as a principal. She has been recognized with such awards as the Principal of the Year and the Outstanding Service Award for Bethlehem Baptist Church. She is involved with the Dynamic Women of Courage and Vision and Who’s Who Among American teachers.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hall Mitchell has made a difference in many students and their families lives. One of her greatest accomplishments has been turning a failing school into an academically sound institution. This was during her time as principal of the Inglenook K-8 school for 13 years. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue developing her nonprofit, as well as running for election for the congressional District 4 for education. She believes she can help more people benefit from the political side of education by obtaining more funding.
