Dr. Hudspeth became involved in counseling after volunteering in an education program. It was after receiving a letter of gratitude that inspired Dr. Hudspeth to become committed and pursue a career in the field. Since then, she has provided generations of students with important care for more than 35 years. For the past 16 years, Dr. Hudspeth has taken great pride in working with students at Denton High School.

In preparation of this career, Dr. Hudspeth earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of North Texas. She continued her education to earn a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy before pursuing, and obtaining a Ph.D., at Texas Woman’s University. She uses this educational background to manage the counseling department and work closely with the counseling team, parents, students, and school administrators. Additionally, she meets with parents and students to discuss academics.

Dr. Hudspeth maintains affiliation with various organizations in order to maximize her abilities and services. She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, the Texas Education Agency and the National Education Association. Her work has been recognized by Who’s Who Among American Teachers and the support from her family and mentors. Looking toward the future, Dr. Hudspeth hopes to open a private practice and become a licensed professional counselor.
