West Kelowna, BC, Canada, July 27, 2016, Marlies White, President of SomaLife, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in health and wellness products.
Ms. White was inspired to start her business in response to a close relative succumbing from an illness. Working with her husband Dr. Philip White, a Harvard and Cambridge educated medical doctor, the pair created a series of products directed at promoting better health for others. These products became the flagship products of her built in the basement business, SomaLife. SomaLife is an Okanagan based, health, wellness, nutrition and age management company that develops, manufactures and markets its proprietary line of one-of-a-kind products locally, nationally and internationally. All of the company’s products are concocted from natural formulas. This has attracted professional athletes in the MLB, NHL, NFL and CFL on using the nutritional sports line, which includes energy drinks and supplements. Now with nearly two decades under the belt, Ms. White leads her company to grow with the hopes of changing more lives with their anti-aging, natural, health and wellness products. Her duties when she first started in 1998, entailed organizing shipping, customer service, bookkeeping and office space. She moved into implementing marketing and presentations, and managed direct-to-market sales. She is hands-on in the accounting department, community outreach and social media, and local charities. The company has also branched out into mineral-based cosmetics, sports management and pet wellness.
For Ms. White, one of the roles of president is as a resource for customers regarding specific questions about health benefits of the products relative to them personally. She is active in her community, where she is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Greater Westside Board of Trade and West K Women of Influence. In addition, she supported the Canadian Red Cross as a child abuse prevention educator and relationship violence. She was a constable with the RCMP Auxiliary, and supports the Red Cross, the Kelowna Food Bank and Kelowna SPCA. In 2016, Ms. White became a director of Aionix Holdings Inc. She lives by her personal motto of, “You do what needs to be done…whatever it takes, helping as many people as possible along the journey.” Knowing how important her company is, she looks forward to expanding the company on an international level in the coming years and fulfilling her husband’s legacy.
