El Cajon, CA, May 3, 2016, Shirley Apple Murphy, Owner at Taspan Consulting Group, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in consulting.

Ms. Murphy parlays 56 years of cultural psychology experience into her consulting business. As she conducts research, development and preservation of indigenous knowledge, she works to apply the knowledge to educational curriculum, career counseling, community development and her life coaching practice. Ms. Murphy provides services as a cultural psychologist, life coach, linguist, and in creative media and as an expert in indigenous knowledge. She maintains affiliation with the Local Association of Bilingual Education, and is a former board member of the Grossmont Healthcare District and Grossmont Hospital Foundation. 

As a member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe, located in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, indigenous culture has a special place in Ms. Murphy’s heart. In addition, she is an 11-year U.S Navy veteran. After completing a Bachelor of Science in linguistics from San Diego State University, she continued her education to earn a Master of Science in counseling psychology from San Diego State University and a Master of Arts in cultural psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. In her spare time, she volunteers her time counseling, raising funds, and creating awareness and spreading the western and Native American knowledge internationally.
