Los Angeles, CA, April 4, 2016, Jan Guy, Deputy Coroner of Kern County, U.S. HealthWorks Medical Group, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in occupational therapy.

Dr. Guy’s achievements have been largely driven by her upbringing, her faith in God and the support she receives from her family. As a deputy coroner, Dr. Guy administers care to patients with work-related injuries on a daily basis. This important work was encouraged by her family physician, Dr. Theodore R. Brooks, who inspired her to become involved in the medical profession. U.S. HealthWorks Medical Group specializes in occupational medicine, urgent care, specialty care, therapy services, medical surveillance management and chiropractic care. She has been with the company for seven years out of the 21 years she has been working. 

With a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from California State University, Dominguez Hills, a Bachelor of Science in health science from the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, a master’s degree in forensic science from National University and a Ph.D. in public health from Rockville University, Dr. Guy is committed to providing the best possible medical service. She continues her education presently at Walden University, and looks to receive a Ph.D. in public policy and administration. Additionally, she is a licensed physician assistant. Dr. Guy has also served in the army, and was honorably discharged at the ranking of a PA.

Dr. Guy has received recognition for her military service such as the Bronze Star Medal, Commendation Award, Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Oversees Service Ribbon. She maintains connection to her field with membership to the California Academy of Physician Assistants, the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the NCCPA and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
