Ms. Lussem’s latest position augments more than 17 years of experience as an executive for global companies. Her latest role, as chief procurement officer for Middle East operations for BP plc, is a result of the hard work and expertise she has applied throughout her career. She bears responsibility for integration of all PSCM resources, and demand and activity in the Middle East region. She works toward maximizing the value of third party spend and ensuring cost recovery is through compliance and control. As a member of the regional president’s leadership team, she plays a supporting role in the delivery of all activities including, production, operations, brownfield and greenfield projects. Her work oversees contracting activity in Oman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and other emerging countries in the region.
With a Bachelor of Engineering in industrial engineering from the University of Pretoria, and a Master of Engineering in engineering management from the University of Johannesburg, Ms. Lussem chose the oil and mining field to provide her services. Her passion for industrial engineering is what eventually led her to working in the industry. By maintaining affiliation with CIPA, she ensures her knowledge is on the forefront of industry standards and trends.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, Ms. Lussem thrives when tackling obstacles and attaining desired results. She masterfully understands her role in the bigger picture, and how it benefits the organization.
