Calgary, Alberta, Canada, March 8, 2016, Rachelle Wilson, Director of ATB Financial, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide, for dedication, achievement and leadership in risk management and financial services.
With nearly three decades of experience, Mrs. Wilson brings her expertise in risk management to ATB Financial. For two years, Mrs. Wilson has provided oversight to retail risk and loss management, and defining, formulating and executing strategies for operational risk management across Retail Financial Services (RFS). Additionally, Mrs. Wilson is committed to pursuing knowledge and application of the best practices in operational risk management, specializing in RFS composition and complexity. She maintains affiliation with the Global Association of Risk Professionals and has goals to teach risk management with adult learners.
Mrs. Wilson graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Secondary English (Grades 7-12) from the University of Calgary, but soon found her calling in the financial arena. From there, she was introduced to risk management, which allowed her to develop skills and proficiency. She holds a professional certificate in risk management from the University of Calgary continuing education program, as well as certificates in security management and Green Belt Six Sigma.
The highlight of Mrs. Wilson’s career has been receiving the President’s League Award in 2015. This honor is bestowed to only a small number of employees who are held in high regard. She has also been honored with a volunteer of the year award with the Abbeydale Community Association. Mrs. Wilson attributes her success to her mentors who recognized her potential in risk management. Resourceful and confident, Mrs. Wilson’s mentors saw that she was also well-organized, priority-driven and had a natural eye for detail. She intends to share her knowledge and proficiency on risk management with consulting.
