Driven by a natural curiosity for the scientific world, Dr. Gomillion-Williams began working with The Dow Chemical Company after graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in 1990. Her focus at the time was polymer chemistry, and she eventually went on to earn a Ph.D. in polymer science from Clemson University in 2000. Since then, she has enjoyed various research roles, ultimately culminating in her position with Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation, a material science and engineering company that provides performance materials, such as glass, polymers and composites.

As a technical research specialist, with noted expertise in polymer material science and engineering, Dr. Gomillion-Williams is primarily responsible for working with soft polymer foams, manufacturing parts for medical devices, conducting on-site research into production problems, and supporting research and development teams. With nearly three decades of experience in the field, her professional affiliations include the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Fiber Society, American Chemical Society and Society of Plastics Engineers. In the future, Dr. Gomillion-Williams hopes to continue to pursue new opportunities to broaden her expertise in material science, as well as teach at the college level.
