Ms. Castagna’s achievements have been largely driven by her intuitive business tactics that aid in successfully developing her business. For more than 32 years, Ms. Castagna has worked with various companies, honing her abilities and strengths until opening Fit Foodz 15 years ago. The company produces chicken products and meals that are low-sodium, lower in fact, gluten-free, additive-free and contain no trans fats. As president, Ms. Castagna is tasked with growing the company and all of the components involved, including: advertising, training staff, administration, financial planning, negotiating with clients, product development and more.

Aiding in her vocational aspirations, Ms. Castagna earned a Bachelor of Science in registered nursing from the Mississippi University for Women and continued at Belhaven University for a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management. In 2004, she earned an MBA in international business, trade and commerce from the University of Phoenix. She has sharpened the skills learned obtaining these degrees to have an unwavering sense of market trends and business development. In building the business, Ms. Castagna made decisions based on instinct while ignoring outside voices that would steer her in the wrong direction.

In addition to her education, Ms. Castagna is involved with several organizations that are aimed at networking and developing businesses. She is affiliated with the Women in Business, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professionals and the Association for Healthcare Food Service. She has also received the National Women’s Business Enterprise Certification, the Women Owned Small Business Certification, and certification in the Minority Business Enterprise and Minority Subcontractor. In the coming years, Ms. Castagna intends to develop the business in retail markets both domestically and internationally.
