Dr. Kalinich earned an MD from Northwestern Center Feinberg School of Medicine in 1969, and continued with an internship as Cook County Hospital in 1970. She completed her residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in 1973. Dr. Kalinich is a board certified psychiatrist in the State of New York and is associated with the American Psychiatry Association, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Running her own practice is no simple feat, but Dr. Kalinich has remained at the top of her game by providing the best medical care possible. She lends these skills to both existing clients and new clients. At Columbia University Medical School, Dr. Kalinich is a clinical professor of psychiatry. She trains, supervises and analyzes students preparing to enter the field of psychiatry at the Columbia Psychoanalytic Center for Training and Research. She is the former president of the Association for Psychoanalytic Medicine at the university.
