Oakbrook, IL, October 2, 2015, Catherine Gruener, Founder and Owner of Gruener Consulting, has been recognized by Elite Women Worldwide for dedication, achievements and leadership in educational services for gifted children.
Ms. Gruener believes that adults, parents and educators have to start with a child’s strength and help them burst from that energy into solving problems in other more challenging aspects of their lives. Now a consultant in the areas of counseling, education and therapy, she demonstrates an expertise in neuropsychology and parenting—especially with regard to individuals with special needs. In her career, she was involved with the Adler School of Professional Psychology, during which time she became certified in positive discipline in order to teach parents and educators how to positively affect children’s development. She has applied these principles into practical educational tools provided to her clients with Gruener Consulting LLC.
Successful because of her devotion to learning, listening to her intuition and pursuing her passion, Ms. Gruener has been actively volunteering, researching and presenting on the social and emotional needs of gifted children since 2009. She has collaborated with award-winning authors to bring her teachings to a wide audience through a parent question guide and a variety of professional articles she has published in her career. Ms. Gruener is a licensed clinical professional counselor, a national certified counselor, a certified positive discipline educator and a certified positive discipline parent education. Additionally, she holds a Master of Arts in counseling and a Master of Arts in Neuropsychology.
To remain at the edge of developments in her field, Ms. Gruener is incredibly active in her professional community. She is a member of the Illinois Association for Gifted Children, the National Association for Gifted Children, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, and the Positive Discipline Association. When asked of her successes in her career, Ms. Gruener attributes her achievements to her hard work passion and dedication to lifelong learning and service to others. Looking to the future, she plans to expand her organization to include counseling services, workshops and classes for educational institutions.
